Professionals in communicating science
Landforms Science & Media specialises in the development of communication strategies on scientific topics for a number of different audiences including the media and general public, schools and policy makers.
Science communication is no luxury, something scientists can choose to do in passing. Climate change, the global energy crisis, increasing water demands, health problems, starvation and the recent natural disasters in South America, New Zealand and Japan all require optimal communication between scientists and the population.
Science may have the answers and means to tackle many of the problems facing humanity, thus literally saving lives. However, this can only happen when the right message reaches the right people in the right way. More often than not, scientists are ill-equipped to get their message across to a lay audience.
Through many years of experience, Landforms Science & Media is the ideal partner for:
- facilitating scientific organisations to communicate with the printed and broadcast media;
- training scientists to communicate their science;
- designing educational projects for schools and other organisations;
- producing documentaries for a wide audience.
Landforms Science & Media has been running the Press Office for the European Geosciences Union since 2004. In addition, we offer communication workshops and customised training packages for various target groups. Landforms Science & Media is also responsible for the News and Media pages and PR of COSIS.net.
