Résumé

The main research interests consist of paleopedology, soils and archaeological deposits thin sections micromorphology, sedimentology, geoarchaeology and quaternary geology, Soil Science. Qualification and history positions can be listed as follows:
- 1993 - Degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Milano;
- 1996-2001 - Sedimentology Laboratory manager at the Earth Sciences Department, University of Milano;
- 1998 - Ph.D. in Natural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Milano;
- since 2001 - Researcher at the Earth Sciences Department, University of Milano;
- since 2001 - Teacher on Geopedology (3 modules) for Natural Sciences, University of Milano; 
- since 2002 - Teacher on Sedimentology Laboratory (1 module) for Geological Sciences, University of Milano. 
Luca Trombino is involved in several research projects of both in Italy and abroad:
- part of the staff of the Environmental Processes Dynamic Institute (National Council of Research - Milano);
- part of the staff of the Interuniversity Research Center on Ancient Saharan Cultures and Environment of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”;
- scientific collaborator on geomorphology and paleoenvironment of archaeological expeditions abroad and several archaeological excavations in Italy;
- member of research units of financed project both from the University and Research Ministry and from the National Council of Research, together with the local projects of the University of Milano.
- tutor or co-tutor of 5 PhD thesis, of 48 thesis of degree and 46 first level thesis.
Luca Trombino attended about 76 national and international congresses (with 25 oral presentations and 59 posters), organized the Archaeological Micromorphology Workshop (Sondrio 2000), co-organized the Archaeological Micromorphology Workshop (Poviglio 2009), was member of the scientific committee of the conference Paleosols: Memory of Ancient Landscapes and Living Body of Present Ecosystems (Florence, June 2004), and was co-convener of the session SSS1 (Soil System Sciences) "Mineralogical and geochemical records of weathering and pedoplasmation: from spatial to temporal scales", of European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2007, convener of the session SSS16 (Soil System Sciences) "Regolith and soil micromorphology, alteration process and clay minerals: mineralogy and geochemistry" of European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2008, convener of the session SSS30 (Soil System Sciences) "Archaeopedology and Archaeological Soil Micromorphology" of European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2010 and co-convener of the session SSS31 (Soil System Sciences) "From rock to soil and back to rock (including Philippe Duchaufour Medal Lecture)" of European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2010 (Wien, Austria).
Luca Trombino is author of about 35 papers, published or in press in Italian and international journals or monographic volumes.
